Lease Your Solar Panels For a Fraction of the Cost

Author: Tina Metcalf

This may be the best way to go solar for everyone. Lease your solar panels, no money down, and they will be installed for free!

Instead of any large up front cost, leasing your solar panels might be the best solution for a lot of people. Generally there is no purchase price on either the panels themselves, or the installation to get them on your roof. All you would do is pay a set fee every month to have them there, just like you would do if you were leasing something, like say, a truck or an an automobile.

The company that installs your panels will charge you a set price for 10 or 15 years worth of service, and during that time, they will handle all maintenance and repairs if needed. You will still pay your electric bill, but with the solar panels generating electricity on your roof, your bill will be much lower. And if the panels produce more power than you use, it gets fed back into the grid, and the electric company pays you!

Most people realize a savings of 10 to 20% over the life of their solar panels, and when the lease is up, you have the option to pay off the value of the panels. After that point, with the panels still generating power, you may not have an electric bill anymore.

These leasing arrangements are cropping up all over the US, and your local solar provider or even your hometown electric company should be called to find out if this program is available in your area.

This might be a terrific way to defer the cost of pollution free solar energy and get it done now.
